Perspiration is an ordinary means of thermoregulation called evaporative cooling. Evaporation of condensation from the skin’s surface has a cooling effect. In a similar manner, HydroChill® has shown to cool artificial turf surfaces by working on the same scientific method. As the turf surface warms up with solar radiation, moisture kept in the HydroChill® turf is let go. Evaporating water eliminates heat, creating a cooler, more comfortable green for the players.

The temperature outside does not necessarily dictate surface temperature. The solar radiation time period, the angle of the sun, cloud cover, wind, and more elements all contribute to the temperature of the surface.
